The Farm
Each year OSE grows seeds for our community, yet this season is the first that we have had a farm of our own. OSE’s small yet burgeoning seed farm is located on a plot of donated land owned by John MacLean of Energy Efficiency Finance Corporation www.eefinance.net, in northeast Olympia. In addition to growing seeds the farm is also the site of ongoing plant breeding projects as we continue to breed varieties specifically adapted to our bioregion. This year our main seed crops include chickpeas, beets, kale, peas, quinoa, and many varieties of shelling beans. Each and every seed grown on our farm will be distributed for free to local farmers and gardeners.
Because our farm is just getting started the OSE is still in need of tools and equipment. Please email farm@olympiaseedexchange.org if you can help us out by making a donation.
